Artist- Dutch Hex Signs, Sand Painting Rituals
Materials- Poster board, makers, scissors, shape tracers, circle tracers, plastic cups, black paper, color pencils.
Activity- Students brainstorm things that can be measured besides time (i.e. love, silliness, fun, weather). Students then create mandallas for the ‘clock’ face, using a homemade spiral graph tracer system. Students fill in all their symmetrically designed shapes with marker until the white of the paper is covered. Students create the ‘hands’ for the clock and attaché the clock hands with a brass fastener.
